2022 World Cup: Hervé Renard assesses Senegal’s chances – Onze d’Afrik

Saudi Arabia coach Hervé Renard has been full of praise for the Senegal national team which he considers the African nation capable of creating a sensation at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Present in Doha in Qatar where the draw for the group stage of the 2022 World Cup was held, Hervé Renard, double winner of the African Cup of Nations (with Zambia, then the Ivory Coast), was asked about the African country to watch during this great mass of world football. Without hesitation, the French technician named Senegal, reigning African Champion.
“Senegal can dream. It is an affordable pool for the African champions who could qualify for the second round. The African team that could go the furthest in this competition is Senegal. The team has very high level individuals. With a title of African champion, Senegal has freed itself. I see Senegal doing a huge World Cup”supported the current coach of Saudi Arabia.
As a reminder, Senegal will launch the 2022 World Cup with the Netherlands in the opening match, and not Qatar (as tradition dictates), on November 21 from 10 a.m. GMT.
