Egypt’s Minister of Sports and Youth, Ashraf Sobhi, has a big promise, says Pharaohs captain Mohamed Salah on the sidelines of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

Last Friday, Egypt carried out a beautiful operation of accuracy against Senegal, by winning 1-0 at the International Stadium of Cairo because of an against his camp of Saliou Ciss following a beautiful strike from Mohamed Salah. A precious success that the Egyptian Minister of Sports wanted to salute.

“Senegal are a solid team and I think we got a positive result in the first leg”Sobhi said. “Going into the second leg with a 1-0 lead gives us a huge advantage. But Egypt is also strong and recent performances bear witness to this. This group of players has our full support.”

Egypt’s top Sports executive then revealed Sadio Mane’s Liverpool team-mate promise. “Mohamed Salah promised us that he would do his best to qualify for the World Cup. This is the kind of spirit that has long been missing in Egypt,” he added.

As a reminder, Senegal will host this Tuesday the return leg of the double confrontation with Egypt in the play-offs of the 2022 World Cup. The opportunity for Mohamed Salah to keep his promise?
