Sophia quickly pushed his chest and looked away from him.
Victor shrugged his shoulders and stood up straight. “Nothing.”
When the elevator door opened, they stepped out. The entire lobby fell silent when they saw Alpha Victor.
Sophia tried to ignore other people’s gazes and gestured to Victor toward the entrance, demonstrating that she was simply doing her job as the Alpha’s personal secretary.
Sophia came to a halt as they exited the company.
“I wanted to talk about something, Ad-… Alpha Victor.”
He turned to her and said,
“You can’t talk to me in this way in front of my rival company. Why not come with me to a restaurant?”
“No way.”
He sighed and asked, “What is it?”
He made his way into the dim alleyway on the left side of the building. Sophia followed him since she had to talk to him, but she could not go somewhere with him either.
He stopped in a calm place and turned to her. “So?”
She cleared her throat and focused her gaze on the ground. Her fingers were fidgeting with her new dress. He observed her every movement.
“You dressed so perfectly for him?”
She looked at him, unable to find words to respond. She indeed dressed today for Bryan.
“Your sister…”
She took a pause. She had lost track of her words. She had no idea how to speak to a brother about his sister, who liked her man.
“What about her?” he asked, sounding serious.
She thought he really loved his sister. She gulped, thinking about how she would say that to him.
“Please tell her to stay away from my mate.”
He raised a brow as he leaned his back against a wall. “Why would I do that?”
She frowned at him. “Why not? He is my man. I am sure you know that he is my mate. Of course, you were aware of it since it was the reason the engagement broke.”
“What do you want?”
“I want her not to come between me and Bryan.”
He smirked at her. “As if you didn’t come between her and her fiance.”
Sophia felt a pang in her heart. She knew she was the other woman in their lives. But what would she do? It was the decision of her fate. Although she was powerless, she did not want things to be that way.
Upon noticing her silence, Victor uttered,
“She has an insane crush on that man. I can’t stop her. By the way, do you know where she is?”
Sophia was taken aback by his words. Why did he not know where Mila was?
She wanted to tell him that Mila had moved into the pack house, but she restrained herself.
She believed that Bryan did not want Victor to be aware of it. Since Victor did not know, she also should not tell him anything about it either.
“I only saw her this morning. Why can’t she just leave Bryan alone?”
“Instead of asking me to speak with Mila, I believe you should speak with your mate about it. What about asking him what he is planning? Today’s discussion in the meeting was very interesting.”
Sophia gave the man in front of her a close glance. He was young and handsome. But he had a dual personality. She assumed he behaved like that only when he was comfortable around someone.
“What is the reason behind your approach to me?”
She noticed the lightness in his eyes. “You caught me. Not bad.”
“I am not that dumb. It is just that I am always looking for positive things.”
“You are capable of doing a lot of things. It is just that you are unaware of it.”
He said it in the same way she spoke to him.
She found hope in him. What if he persuaded his sister to leave Bryan alone?
“Your sister will not be happy with Alpha Bryan. He loves me. Do you want her to stay unhappy in the future?”
Victor briefly paused before saying,
“What is that strange smell I am getting? Sophia looked left and right to see if there was a trashcan near the smell he was complaining about.
“What smell?”
“The smell of fear.”
Her eyes froze, and she slowly turned to look at him. He grinned and slipped his hands into his pants pockets.
“I enjoy people’s fear—but only when they fear me. You should not worry about losing anything. Make them feel scared of losing you.”
“How?”
He looked into her eyes and muttered,
“Leave him and come to me.”
She blinks her eyes. “W-What?”
He laughed and shook his head. “Why are you looking so scared as if I am some monster who will eat you alive in bed?”
Sophia gave him a cold look. “You only think about bed, don’t you?”
“I can’t stay loyal to just one woman. I must always have a different woman in my bed.”
She pulled a disgusting face. “How cheap!”
“Do you know that if you were a Moon Valley Pack member, you would be killed for saying that to your Alpha?”
His warning did not frighten Sophia. “It does not matter to me because I am not a member of your pack.”
She turned around as she decided to return to the company. She knew that this man would not help her push his sister away from Bryan.
“He doesn’t love you.”
Her footsteps came to a halt, and she turned to face him. “He does.”
“He only cares about his rank and position. Mark my words. He will crush you to a point where you can’t repair yourself.”
“Now you are talking like my ex-boyfriend. He also says such nonsense. I know my man. He can shift his mood but not his heart. I am his home, his safe place.”
Victor watched Sophia walk away from him. He stared at her until she faded from his sight.
“Bryan Morrison, let’s see which path you will take. In both ways, I’ll be the gainer anyway.”
two/three people have said the same thing to her and even her brother was very skeptical about him being her mate….HOW CAN SHE STILL NOT REALIZE THAT YET?!!! STOP BEING SO OPTIMISTIC 24/7😭😭😭😭
Now I desperately want to see her being hurt by Bryan so she will realise how slow witted she has been all along, damn girl
