Sophia entered the house after Victor dropped her in her house. As she just stepped inside the house, she saw her mother talking with someone.
She slowly closed the main door behind her.
“Hi.”
She waved her hand at them with an awkward smile.
“Sophia,” her mother said, smiling at her.
On the other hand, Abraham’s mood looked off. Sophia wondered if Bryan had said something to him.
She walked up to them and sat on the couch next to her mother. She wanted to go to her room, but she decided to first speak with her brother. She told her mother this morning that she would apologize to her brother for last night.
“Hello, brother,” she mumbled, glancing at him.
Abraham gave her a look and asked,
“Where is your car, Sophia?”
Sophia was stunned by his question. Her mother, Hanna, raised her brows and turned her head toward her.
“You did not bring your car with you? How did you get back? Are you okay, Sophia? Was there any kind of accident?”
“Mom, I’m fine. Relax.”
Her mother felt relieved. She stroked her hair and said,
“That’s a relief.”
Abraham did not look at her mother as his eyes were fixed on his sister.
“You have not answered yet.”
Sophia looked at him, took a deep breath, and replied calmly. “It is in the parking lot of the airport. I will go there tomorrow to get it back and pay the charges for tonight.”
“Airport?” Hanna mumbled in confusion.
“And what were you doing in the airport?” Abraham asked.
Sophia gulped as she mumbled, “Brother, I went to receive a friend.”
“Which friend?” Abraham’s voice was sharp enough to let her know that he was angry.
Hanna looked at her son, then turned to her daughter. She had no idea what was going on there. Her son was angry from the moment he returned home. She asked him about it several times, but he said he was waiting for Sophia.
“Is that the Adon guy, Sophia?” Hanna asked as she remembered the contact name on her phone.

Hanna was perplexed. “About what?”
“How did you learn about the Adon thing?”
“Adon thing? Isn’t it the name of Sophia’s friend.”
Abraham gritted his teeth and muttered,
“That’s not a name but a title.”
Hanna parted her lips in surprise. “Title?”
“It’s a title that the pack of Moon Valley gave to their head Alpha. It means Lord in their language.”
Hanna’s eyes grew large. “Moon Valley? Do you mean Alpha Victor?” she mumbled, slowly turning her head at Sophia once again.
Meanwhile, Sophia stared at her brother. She just shrugged her shoulders and asked Abraham,
“If you know everything, why bother asking about it? Yes, I went to pick him up. He is my friend, and Mom is aware of this.”
“Friend? Have you completely lost your mind? And what did you just say? Mom knows about it?”
Abraham’s gaze met his mother’s. Hanna shook her head in response. “I learned about it when he came to meet her…”
Hanna bit her tongue as she realized she had told her son about what happened that night.
Abraham let out a growl as he rose up from the couch. “Mom! What are you saying? That man came to our house? And you did not even tell me?”
Sophia stood up and tried to speak to her brother calmly. “Brother, calm down. It’s not anything serious. He is my friend and he can come to meet me.”
Abraham gave her a cold stare. “I thought you would mature over time. What led you to believe you went to our rival and became friends? Is everything a game for you?”
“Brother, I know he is our rival. But he will never hurt us. His sister is in our pack.”
Abraham scoffed at her. “His sister? Do you think he will think twice about his sister before doing anything? Do you even have any idea why his sister is here?”
Sophia frowned at him. “I know you and your Alpha don’t like Victor. But I don’t care. I can’t live my life like you all.”
Abraham got furious after hearing her. He looked at his mother. “If you took care of her that one year, she would never get the chance to talk back. Tell her to come back to her senses before it is too late.”
Hanna stood up and held Sophia’s hand. “Please, my daughter. I told you that night, too. Why do you need to meet him? He is the only person our Alpha doesn’t like.”
“No, mom. He is the only one who can look into our Alpha’s eyes and speak back. That’s why our Alpha and his favorite officials can’t stand him.”
Abraham stared at Sophia with a mad face. “Alpha is not pleased with your actions, Sophia. He is enraged over everything.”
Grinning bitterly, Sophia shot him a mocking glance. “I am not here to impress your Alpha. He is getting married to Victor’s sister. So he should not have any problem with him.”
When Abraham noticed his sister talking like a stubborn girl, he approached her and grabbed her hand from his mother’s, placing it on his palm.
“Make a promise to your brother. You will maintain your distance from Alpha Victor. Your life is not safe with a rival Alpha. What will we do if he hurts you?”
Sophia sighed as she gazed at her brother. “I am not even safe with your head Alpha, brother. Please do not force me to make any promises. I know Victor, he will not hurt me.”
Hanna was confused about why her daughter was urging to meet that man. She was filled with doubt, which quickly turned to fear.
“Sophia, you and—”
“Mom, let’s not talk about this anymore.”
Abraham let go of her hand and said in anger,
“You are too stubborn.”
Sophia ignored his remarks and said,
“Brother, I want the invitation pass for the party. It is the day after tomorrow, right?”
“Alpha does not want you to be there. He canceled my family’s invitation pass and told me you would not be attending the party.”
