Willow
“If not, then don’t you dare to run away from here again. Or I don’t fucking mind having you tied to my bed, naked and moaning for the next three months…” He stated as the room fell into a dead silence. I could not open my mouth to argue as I knew what Reuben was capable of when it came to me. The darkness in his aura and his hardness resting against my belly was as real as me being pressed into the mattress under him after 6 years.
Only the sound of our breathing and intense heartbeat was audible in the room as neither of us were willing to look away from the other. My wolf Ceri had become just as enlivened in my mind as she had been years ago due to this dangerous proximity between Reuben and I. She had grown so sensitive that I could even hear her heavy breathing but all my attention was drawn to the Reuben growing down there.
‘Mate…’ Ceri suddenly said in my mind. I gasped hearing her voice but more than that Dex appearing in Reuben’s eyes scared me. It turned out that Ceri had somehow seduced Dex.
I held my breath in panic as a sudden wave of heat swept over my body alongside the shame that I experienced at that moment when Reuben caught me affected by him. I bit my tongue to control my body’s shiver and reaction but as he rubbed himself against my belly again my whole body jolted. His eyes shone with burning desires as he stared at my lips and began to lean down more and more until our lips were an inch away from being touched.
I clenched my fists tightly and immediately turned my face away before it was too late. Reuben instantly paused, staring at my flushed face as I felt his hot breath brushing my cheeks. Still pinned under him, I could not control my shiver which snapped Reuben back to his senses. He tightly closed his eyes to control his wolf immediately. Taking long deep breaths like an animal, he abruptly shoved himself off from my body, got off of the bed at lightning speed, and left the bedroom without looking back.
I lay on the bed and stared at the ceiling for a long time before I slowly sat up on the bed. My hair and dress was messed up while my heart drummed inside my chest with the scary discovery that I realized too late. I… I was still quite affected by Reuben.
After the betrayal, I suffered greatly and had hated Reuben for these past six years. I had thought that if we ever meet again in the future we would be complete strangers. That I would not be affected by him even a bit as the weight of hatred in my heart was more than the love that I had for him years ago. The problem was at the moment my wolf was giving in to Reuben’s seduction and close proximity which installed panic in my heart.
My wolf was returning to her old self, becoming responsive and sharp inside me only because of Reuben. I closed my eyes not letting tears gathered in my eyes. No…this could not be happening to me. I could not possibly…no I definitely could not…
“Mommy…” Lori’s voice jolted me out of my dark thoughts. I immediately raised my head to find Lori running inside the bedroom with her stubby little legs.
“Mommy, what are you doing in here? I have been looking for you everywhere,” she chirped, holding my hand.
I was still in somewhat of a daze and stared at Lori. This was reality, my children. I was a mother of my two beautiful children. They were my life and I should not feel anything. What the hell had I been thinking just now? There was no way I still would be… There was no way!
I was just swayed and misinterpreted Reuben’s actions and by my wolf’s sudden response. I had to wrap my head around these feelings that were a hell hole for me and focus on the people I loved, my children and the Wade Moon Pack.
Taking a deep breath, I controlled my emotions and returned to reality.
“Mommy, are you listening to me?” Lori pulled my sleeves to get my attention.
I blinked and smiled at her, “What did you say?”
“I said that Daddy’s house is bigger than grandpa Benjamin’s! There is a swimming pool and a big playground too!” She was standing on her toes and her eyes were shining bright.
I did not know how I felt about her excitement. The kids were already liking Reuben’s place. But having my baby back to me, I felt better and smiled, “Is that so? Do you like this packhouse?”
“I loved it!” She happily exclaimed.
I chuckled, getting out of the bed and fixing my appearance, “Why are you alone? where is your brother?”
“He is still exploring the packhouse with uncle Oran. I saw daddy going to the second floor but you were not with him so I came here searching for you, knowing you would be feeling lonely without me!”
I laughed a little at her choice of words. “Yes, mummy was lonely because Lori was not with her, “I held her hand as we exited the room. Along the hallway, she talked non stop about what she saw around and what she liked. I listened to her with a smile and acted surprised even though I was aware of every little thing in this packhouse. Glancing around, I felt as though I had been transported back six years in time to when I used to come to visit. Everything was the same, down to the color of the paint of the walls on the interior of the house. I paused when I realized everything was what I had chosen in the past, every design, pattern and even the colors. Nothing had changed.
I couldn’t help but glance at Reuben’s bedroom. Earlier I was so shocked to be back that I hadn’t noticed but taking a closer look, I found something else. My heart quickened and I blinked in surprise. His room… It looked exactly the same as my room from six years ago. How could that be possible? Was it a coincidence?
“Mommy… what’s wrong?” Lori pulled at my arm. “Let’s go.”
“Lori, you go and find your brother. I have something to do,” I told her, without looking at her as my eyes would not allow me to look from Reuben’s bedroom.
“Okay,” she obeyed and raced downstairs to find Wyatt while I climbed the stairs to the second floor only to stop in front of Reuben’s office.
Slowly entering I found Reuben standing next to the desk, his back towards me and a lit cigarette between his fingers. I slowly walked inside. Obviously he was aware of my arrival yet he did not look at me.
“I am ready to live in the Emerald Bright Pack for three months until the rejection but I have two conditions,” I declared.
Reuben slowly turned towards me, “What are the conditions?” he asked without actually looking at me as he put out his cigarette in the ashtray.
“After the three months are over I will be allowed to leave with Wyatt and Lori,” I stated, instantly earning Rebuen’s penetrating eyes but I continued, “Secondly, I want the Wade Moon Pack papers right now,” I remarked.
Reuben silently walked closer to me with our eyes locked, “Here,” he stood in front of me and passed me the pack’s papers without any argument. I looked up at him in surprise. He was just giving them to me so easily?
I raised my hand to take them from him but Reuben did not let the papers go. Instead he pulled me closer to his chest, “Remember what you just promised, Willow. Don’t make me chase after you, okay?” he whispered. His words were quiet yet his eyes were full of threats.
At this point obtaining the Wade Moon Pack’s papers was my priority. I blinked and only nodded.
“Good,” Reuben let go of the papers. I quickly took it safely in my hand but he did not let go of me.
“Willow?” Suddenly a familiar voice entered my ears. I turned to look at the door to find a short woman with blonde long hair, dressed in top and skirt like a doll entering the room. And behind her A tall man in his mid twenties with hard expression was standing. The woman was my best friend Ella and Reuben’s Gamma Bix. Both of their faces were full of shocks at the sight of me.
I had last seen them six years ago when I left without saying goodbye. I was not prepared for such an early meeting with them.
“Why are you here?” Bix frowned as his eyes moved between Reuben and I. That’s when I realized I was still in Reuben’s grasp. I tried to pull away from him but Reuben held me tighter as he turned to them.
“Willow has come back to the Emerald Bright Pack and is now going to be living here,” he announced. My eyes instantly snapped at him. Why did he tell them half truth? I was only going to be there for three months!
“Willow, is it true?” Ella, who had been too shocked to speak earlier, smiled and walked over to me. That’s wonderful news,
Bix stopped her halfway across the room bitterly spitting out, “Why are you smiling at the woman who is in your man’s arm on the first day of her return?”
Ella bit her lip and lowered her head as if she was holding back tears.
“Her man? What do you mean?” I questioned, glancing at Reuben once.
“It’s nothing,” Reuben interupted with a growl as he glared at Bix, “What the fuck you are you doing here when I didn’t call for you? Get out!”
Ella flinched and said, “Bix, let’s go,” she whispered, following the Alpha’s order. She turned to leave while Bix shot me a hateful glare and turned to follow her.
“No, wait!” I shouted and broke out of Reuben’s hold. “Tell me why you said that?” I demanded of Bix. Ella also stopped but did not turn to look at me.
“Don’t pretend to be innocent when the whole world has found out about it in the news,” Bix turned to me sharply and said, “Ella is Reuben’s fiancee.”
