Zanian POV
Submitting to Chrystal was the hardest thing I have ever done. I was ready to rip Julian’s head of when I heard what he had to say. Who the hell does he think he is to say something like that to my mate?
I am angry at Chrystal for saying what she said and now I can’t get it out of my head. “I’m attracted to Julian.” She said and stormed out of my office leaving me stunned and hurt. Why would she be attracted to another man when she has my mark? I asked myself.
I realise I was wrong to press her into telling me everything, but I don’t know if she was telling the truth or just said that things to hurt me, either way she did her job and I am hurt. I saw the way she looked a Julian and didn’t miss the jump in her heartbeat and neither did I miss the way she looks at him whenever he is in the room.
When he asked me if I know where she might be I knew they will be alone, but I trust Chrystal and I know she wouldn’t deliberately hurt me or do something to hurt herself.
I walked past the kitchen and spotted Deliah so I turned around and walked into the kitchen taking a seat behind the counter.
“Deliah have you seen Chrystal?” I asked watching her make a sandwich as if it is the most interesting thing in the world. When she looked up I realised she looks tired. She actually has dark circled under her eyes.
“no I haven’t Z. the last time I saw her was when she left a few hours ago.” Deliah said and smiled softly at me.
I was about to get up when I thought of something. “what do you think about Julian?” I asked her and watched her reaction.
“he’s cool, kind of mysterious but cool. Why?” she looks so calm when she said that, I had to ask. “so you don’t feel attracted to him?” I asked her and received a look that could have put me six feet under. She laid her hand on my shoulder and gave it a reassuring squeeze, “Chrystal loves you Zanian and she loves her daughters I don’t think she would do anything to ruin that.” Deliah said and walked out. When she left I sat in the kitchen for a while longer.
I started feeling strange I shook my head thinking it would go away, but the feeling just increased spreading from my stomach throughout my whole body.
It feels like a thousand small fairies were set free under my skin. It doesn’t itch and it doesn’t hurt but it tingles. ‘almost like the feeling when mates touch.’ I snapped my head up and ran out of the kitchen. When I got outside I saw Chrystal walking and she looks angry. Not just angry, but ready to explode.
I took in her appearance and saw she is wearing just a shirt and it’s not even mine.
I walked closer to her and growled when I caught Julian’s scent on the shirt.
When she looked up at me her eyes were dark and I mean murderously dark.
He held up her hand and cut me off. I tried speaking to her, but she just kept on walking.
I followed behind her and saw her chasing everyone out of the house. I have seen her mad before, but I have never seen her this mad.
Chrystal POV
After Julian just ran off and left me there speechless and very confused I started getting angry. I walked home not bothering to shift and the more I think the angrier I got.
He had no right to kiss me.
I am angry at him and I’m angry at Roxy for complicating my life even more when it’s already complicated enough. What the hell was the sparks about, and why did he just leave?
I had only one goal and that was to get answers and I know just who to speak to.
I don’t know if Zanian felt anything and if he did he better not start with me.
A half hour later I walk into the pack territory and walked straight to the house. Zanian came out and growled at me and when I looked up at him he was staring at the shirt I’m wearing. I put my hand up and stopped him before I do something I will regret.
I walked past him and into the house chasing everyone out. I don’t want anyone in my business and certainly not Zane or Tracy. I know Zanian has been following me so I left him because he needs to hear this as well.
I walk up the stairs and to Zanian’s office. When I opened the door Spike was already there waiting. When he saw me he gave a sight and said, “I will tell you what you want to know.” He looked over at Zanian and then at me as if asking if I’m sure he should be here.
I walked in and closed the door behind me.
I didn’t feel like sitting down so I just stood there looking at Spike.
“how is this possible?” I asked and he knows exactly what I’m talking about.
“your fox rejected Zanian as her mate so she formed a connection with Julian when your Fox kissed him they basically sealed the bond, but that could only happen if the feeling is mutual which I guess it was. That is why you felt the sparks and you will keep feeling them because he is your mate.”
Zanian roared out in rage and looked at me. He was about to storm out when Spike stopped him and said, “when a fox mate, they mate for life and the minute you hurt Chrystal Roxy rejected you. Chrystal and Raven is your mate, but Julian is Roxy’s mate. Now that they have kissed the bond will only grow stronger and there is nothing either of you can do about it.”
“what about Tracy?” Zanian asked and spun around looking at Spike.
“the spark they share will die in time as for Roxy is stronger and she already claimed her mate.” Spike said and looked at me.
“you cannot reject him Chrystal it would be like losing a mate and your Fox will die if she doesn’t then she’ll be heartless and cold, she will become like the Foxes who were hunted down. You share a body and only you can make a decision.”
“how will this even work?” I asked throwing my hands in the air.
“you are two different species each one has a mate. It is very rare for someone like you to have only one mate. Raven chose Blaze and now Roxy chose Julian.”
“what will happen If she rejects him?” Zanian asked and Spike repeated himself. “Roxy will die and so will a part of Chrystal and Raven. They are one Zanian and you have to accept that.”
I watched as Zanian opened the door about to walk out. “Zanian pleae.” I said and my voice came out so soft and pleading that he turned and looked at me.
“you want him well you can have him Chrystal.” Zanian said and a pain hit my chest making me crumble to the floor screaming out in pain.
Spike jumped off the chair running to my side. I saw Zanian come back in looking at Spike.
“she needs a hospital.” Spike said and looked at me. I could taste iron in my mouth and I think my nose is leaking. “what the hell is happening to her?” I heard Zanian shout.
“the bond is breaking and it will kill her. Zanian you have to accept her and Julian.
Like it or not you are bonded now, so if you want her to die then fine.” Spike said and stepped back looking at me giving me a sad smile. “close your eyes honey and sleep. It will be over soon.” Spike said and Zanian growled. When he growled the room shook.
“I Zanian Black accept Chrystal as my mate and Julian as her mate.” Zanian said and darkness overtook me.
Julian POV
I know I’m a coward for running away from her, but nothing makes sense anymore. Everything is so confusing. I was just sitting on a cliff looking down at the ocean when I started feeling angry and confused. Knowing it isn’t my emotions I started heading back I saw Chrystal walking into the house and waited.
I know where she is going. I jumped onto the roof and went to sit right above Zanian’s office. I know I won’t be welcomed in, but I also need answers and I need to understand. I listened to what was said and I felt even more confused.
I heard Chrystal’s pleading voice just before a pain hit my chest and literally knocked the breath out of me. I hissed out in pain and clutched my chest.
‘what the hell is happening?’ I asked and received no answer. When I listened again I heard Spike say “She’ll die.” I tried ignoring the pain in my chest and got off the roof.
I walked into the house and stumbled my way up the stairs.
I didn’t bother knocking on the door and just opened it.
When I saw Chrystal lying on the floor blood running from her nose and mouth my world stopped.
I fell down next to her and picked her up looking at Zanian and Spike.
”she needs a hospital.” Spike said and looked at me.
Zanian stepped forward and said, “I will take her.”
I handed him Chrystal and I couldn’t stay upright anymore. I collapsed and fell to the floor.
I heard Zanian cures.
I opened my eyes and closed them again due to the sharp light. I tried again and waited until I could focus and looked around me. I’m in the hospital. I remembered what happened and sat upright. My muscles protested but I ignored it.
I looked to my left and saw Zanian sleeping in the chair next to my bed. when I looked to my right I saw Chrystal lying on a bed hooked onto machines.
I got off the bed and walked over to her.
She looks so peaceful sleeping that I couldn’t help but stare. I took her hand in mine and felt the sparks as strong as before. I looked down at her and said, “I Julian Carmelo accept you Roxy as my chosen mate.”
I am sorry that Tracy won’t be my mate, but I’ve had my time with her and she is with Zane now.
“she accepted you this morning when she woke up.” Zanian said and walked up behind me.
I looked up at him and said, “I never planned for any of this.”
Zanian looked at me and I could see sadness behind his eyes, “this isn’t your fault but my own. If only I didn’t hurt her as much as I did in the beginning this would have never happened. Her father was right loving a fox comes with a price.” Zanian said and looked at me “just don’t make the same mistake I did.”
I looked down at Chrystal and said
“never.”
