Burkina Faso/ Terrorists kill more than 10 soldiers in a “complex” attack

The Burkinabè army is still bereaved by the horde of terrorists who are swarming in the north of this Sahelian country. An army statement explains what happened on Friday April 8, when terrorists targeted an army detachment, killing several people after intense fighting.

Terrorists in Burkina challenge Colonel Damiba who says he has taken power to bring security to the country. For some time, the terrorists have wanted to do battle and prove it by a tactic of harassment of Burkinabe troops. The attacks follow one another in the north and in the west of Burkina. The latest attack against Burkinabè soldiers took place this Friday, April 8.

According to the press release from the general staff, the Burkinabè soldiers suffered an attack deemed complex. In this attack, the Burkinabè army lost at least 12 soldiers, according to the provisional assessment drawn up by the high command of the army. The attack targeted the Naguissima detachment in the Centre-Nord region, the army statement said.

In addition to the 12 soldiers killed in the battle, 4 civilians, part of the army auxiliaries, fell on the field of honor. The sad toll is further increased by several wounded in the ranks of the army. The press release speaks of about twenty soldiers made non-operational by the terrorists. The terrorists also caused material damage. To counter them, the army says it has deployed reinforcements. On April 1, Colonel Damiba had sworn that he would do a security assessment in 5 months.
