Football/ End of Patrice Beaumelle’s contract at the head of the Elephants

The departure of the coach of the Elephants of Côte d’Ivoire, Patrice Beaumelle is finally official. The FIF Normalization Committee announced on Wednesday April 6, 2022, that the French coach’s contract was ending and would not be renewed.
The French technician will no longer be at the head of the Ivorian football team. The announcement fell on Wednesday, April 6. At the head of the Elephants since 2020, Patrice Beaumelle will fly to another destination as a coach.
The adventure of the coach therefore seems to have ended on the sly, with an adventure at the CAN stopped in the round of 16 against Egypt on penalties. He therefore failed to go beyond the knockout stages of the CAN.

In addition to the Elephants’ disastrous defeat in the friendly matches against France and England, there was no indication that any extension could be made for the French technician.
For several weeks, the fate of Patrice Beaumelle as coach of the Elephants was at the heart of discussions. Several observers indicated that he would not be renewed.
