Revealing this Tuesday the top 30 highest paid players in Ligue 1, the media l’Equipe also revealed the 5 highest salaries of Africans. An update that ejects Idrissa Gueye from the top of the rankings.

Indeed, the Senegalese international midfielder is no longer the highest paid African player in the League since the arrival of a certain Achraf Hakimi at Paris Saint-Germain last summer. Bought around 65 million euros from Inter Milan last summer, the Moroccan right side earns 1.08 M€ monthly.

This makes the player trained by Real Madrid the highest paid African in the French first division. And by far ! He therefore stole this title from his team-mate Idrissa Gueye (€500,000), leader last year and now 2nd. A 3rd Parisian, the other Senegalese African Champion Abdou Diallo, crowns the African podium with €450,000.

The TOP 5 highest paid Africans in Ligue 1 (gross monthly salary):

1. Achraf Hakimi (PSG): €1,083,000

2. Idrissa Gueye (PSG): €500,000

3. Abdou Diallo (PSG): €450,000

4. Cedric Bakambu (OM): €400,000

5. Wahbi Khazri (Saint-Etienne): €290,000
