Russia carried out a powerful strike on a supermarket in Ukraine, precisely in the suburbs of kyiv. At first glance, the simple-minded might be offended and see Vladimir Putin as a ruthless man. However, on analysis, and given the softness of the condemnations of this strike, there is necessarily a needle in the rock. In fact, Russia was spurred on by a French media report to discover that this supermarket had been turned into a military fortress…

Russia does nothing haphazardly in its bomb ings in Ukraine. She just proved it by hitting a supermarket in the suburbs of kyiv. According to French media, the target was sprayed with vehicles. In addition, in the parking lot, a gaping crater several meters wide in front of a charred ten-storey building, testified to the power of the strike.

But why did Russia target this seemingly innocuous hold which a priori served to feed the populations? Simply because Russia was able to investigate the role of this supermarket, following a report by the French channel BFM-TV. On March 9, 2021, the French chain was immersed in this supermarket which was in fact used as a hiding place for the Ukrainian army.

Better, this supermarket had a highly strategic function, militarily speaking. Indeed, instead of a supermarket, it had become the Operational HQ of the elements of the Territorial Defense of kyiv. As such, it was teeming with soldiers and also with weapons. “In order to counter the enemy invasion, several strategic points have been created in the city. Among them, the kyiv Territorial Defense HQ, which has been installed in a shopping center whose address is kept secret for obvious security reasons.“, said the report of BFM-TV, which had no idea that the Russians would know.

The Russians therefore sought to find out which supermarket was not mentioned in the report and which served as a headquarters for Ukrainian soldiers and civilians engaged in the Territorial Defence. The cross-checks made, Russia will wait for the civilians who work in the sector to come down from their jobs. Sure that the sector was now populated by only a few fighters, Russia went into action, overnight.
