“I resign as a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and I will accept any consequences deemed appropriate by the Board of Directors.”
Chris Rock’s joke about the hair of Smith’s wife, Jada, who suffered from alopecia causing significant hair loss, and Smith’s violent reaction provoked reactions in the days following the Oscars.
