Morocco national team coach Vahid Halilhodzic has come under fire from football observers after his ultra-defensive system put in place against the Democratic Republic of Congo last Friday. At a press conference on Monday, the Franco-Bosnian technician made his reply.
“There is enormous pressure, especially on me. At home, everyone is a coach, you all know football and the national team better than Vahid. That’s how it is, this passion for football exists with you, with me. Everyone has his own opinion”first tempered the technician, before addressing more specifically the issue of system changes, which is one of the criticisms made by Nordin Amrabat.
“We played 6 qualifying matches for the World Cup at home and it was a complete success. We even sometimes changed the system, we allowed ourselves to do so, even for official matches. It’s not the system that’s important, it’s the game plan, the animation.”explained Vahid Halilohdzic.
